Epic Wolf Guard Terminators.

I have finally managed to finish up one of my many many many ongoing projects. I am really happy with the way they have turned out. I wanted to have as much detail as i could on them because well they are the best of the best.

The squad leader or battle leader i think it is called (not a expert) needed a close combat weapon but i was undecided about going with a sword or a battle axe. So i decided on neither! i went with a power maul because i think they are cool. It was made out of a 40k Space Marine combat knife handle cut down, the eagle shape really looks neat.

I cut a few left arms and repositioned them so as to give a bit of variety. The rest of the detail was  painted on, like the knee pads and storm bolters. The Crux Terminatus was hard to do as i wanted it to look good but not have to take too long to do all twenty. I will eventually do a post soon with the finished Wolf Guard Land raiders.

Epic scale W.I.P Wolf Guard terminators

This is my first ever Epic scale Terminator unit, I know hard to believe eh. I don't know why i have never gotten round to building this unit before but there you have it. Better late than never.

So I wanted to show the assault cannons on the models so I got some 0.88 mm size plastic tubing and put it on. After looking at it for some time half finished on my project desk, i didn't like the look of the placement of the tubing. So I cut in off and repositioned lower so it looks more like the 28mm one. I think it looks a lot better.

WIP Space Wolve Landraiders

You would think with me having so many ( 50+ ) of the old Epic Mk1 Landraiders I should have more painted up. The fact is i just never got round to it. I always had other units i wanted to finish first.

Well that is about to change, this first lot, will be done soon and then i have plans on starting a second unit of Mk1's. just after i finish the other two projects i have half finished. Lol that is so like me, start something then get bored and start another.

Magnetizing old Terminators

I have had a few old Rogue trader era terminator heavy weapon arms knocking around in my bits box. So i wanted to be able to switch them out on the same model to give me some options and what better way than with magnets.   

As luck would have it the hole for the weapon arm to attach to the body is the same size as a D52 rare earth magnet. This made the conversion so much easier all i needed to do was cut off the nib of the arm then drill out the hole fore the magnet. i have found the fastest and easiest way is to keep all the magnets together so you don't forget or get the polarity mixed up.

I always thought the small amount of  ammo/fuel each trooper carried into battle was odd. If I was entering a battle or space hulk I would have a servitor loaded down with extra ammo,grenades, batteries etc.
So with that in mind a wanted to add some more fuel storage to my heavy flamer guy. As luck would have it the tanks from the guard Spure is perfect.

W.I.P Hunter

Hi it has been  a long time between posts but that is real life for ya. So with the death from the skies coming out I felt like my Mentors needed some anti air coverage.
So i picked up the main stalker turret from a bits store and then raided my bits boxes for the rest.

As you can see i am going to use the middle bit from an Aegis defence turret. The  SM optics from the command sprue. The back hatch from a razorback and the hunter turret.
l wanted to put it on the other side of the razorback/predator top hatch as it has the doors that look like it could be used to reload the missile magazine.

It is true, i really suck at blogging i just haven't put the time in needed to keep it going. I can come up with a load of excuses (or reasons as i tell my wife) as to why i have not blogged but what it comes down to is i have very little spare time on my hands. When i do have "free" time i am lazy and unmotivated. So what to do? well change is what. Now don't expect a post a week or anything like that, i am still going to be a part time blogger. I am hoping to just do a bit more, well fingers crossed.
